Ryanair – follow-up

Further to my last post about the most miserly company in the world, it seems their public relations are getting better by the day.

A blogger (web developer, to be precise) found a bug on their website [link deleted – they don’t deserve the linkage] that enabled him to see a price listed at £0.00. He never claimed to be able to buy at that price, merely that under certain conditions the site would list the price to be free. Obviously this could confuse customers and make their purchase experience far from ideal.

Soon after his post, Ryanair staff started getting stuck in, posting a number of agressive and patronising comments, despite the light-hearted, helpful and friendly tone of his own. Amongst other things, he was called a “lunatic”, told he had a “pathetic life”, accused of “bragging” about the exploit (which he clearly wasn’t) and generally abused by the staffers, who all hid behind such creative nicknames as “Ryanair staff #1”, “Ryanair staff #2” and so on.

Steve McNamara, their Chief of PR, and the same guy who made the stunningly penetrating and insightful comments that I mentioned in my last post, was quoted by CNN as saying on the subject:
“Ryanair can confirm that a Ryanair staff member did engage in a blog discussion. It is Ryanair policy not to waste time and energy in corresponding with idiot bloggers, and Ryanair can confirm that it won’t be happening again. Lunatic bloggers can have the blog sphere all to themselves, as our people are far too busy driving down the cost of air travel.”

The only one who wasn’t surprised by this fiasco? ABTA, whose spokesperson said:
“They treat their customers with contempt. This is the way Ryanair conducts its business.”

And in case you think that this blog is all whinge and no minge, I hereby swear that I will NEVER EVER travel on Ryanair.

i’m going to barcelona in may and my friends are flying by ryanair

but i took a stand and said NO

because Ryanair are a nasty bunch of mean fucking cunts.

and the best bit is that ryanair say they fly to “barcelona” but it’s actually Girona which is an hour’s drive away.

whereas Easyjet, who i am going with, go straight to the big B. where I will take a leisurely 5-minute bus into town and beat them to the hotel even though I take off later. all for £5 more. yesss.

fuck ryanair, fly easyjet. it’s the way forward.

Now, tell me what that bloody picture is! I’m all out of guesses. Is it some puzzle where you have to solve kl00’s to get the rest of the pixels?!
