Japhova’s Witnesses

O. M. G.

I just answered the door to two Japanese guys in suits. They said good evening and chatted a bit in Japanese before realising that I didn’t understand very well and pulling an English booklet out of their bag. Up until this point I thought they were from the electricity company as I’ve been sitting on a bill for a few weeks, but upon reading the information they so obviously carried for the occasion of running into god-fearing foreigners, I realised what they wanted and bade them a polite farewell. Nice enough guys I though, but the next day one of my teachers warned me against them, which seemed a little excessive!

Haha that takes me back – they used to come to my apartment block all the time when I lived in Japan. Lack of Japanese is no defence – they sent back reinforcements that spoke English to my place…
